Datalyse - freeware data analysis tool

Datalyse is a perfect addition to any hex editor you own, especially if you wish to identify file types and compression methods quickly and graphically. It works by rapidly counting the bytes within the file and graphing the densities of each. You can obtain Datalyse through our download system.

This file is a text file - it includes a large number of spaces (32d), the letter e (101d) and equal numbers of the two characters that make up a newline (10d/13d)(at least for windows).

This file is compressed data with the ZIP codec, and contains quite equal distribution.

This file is a wav audio file, and so is highly symmetrical - you can tell where the most of the sound lies as well - here it is in silence.

This is an exe as it contains a lot of null bytes and some gaps.
