Yes, apply for one by contacting us and we will discuss the details. You will still be able to pay by our secure servers.

I want on a computer/laptop without an Internet connection; how can I get it on there?
You can download the installer on another computer and transfer it onto your other machine by use of your own storage media (usb flash memory stick, CD, etc.). As long as you install the product on one computer only, you are keeping with the license. And if you are wondering about why there is no CD edition yet, it is because it is very small at only 1.8Mb for the installer. It would not be worth it really, but we may offer a CD version in future with a large pack of samples.

How many versions have been made?
We originally released version 1.0 and this did well for some time, but it was less efficient than we wanted and only used one mode of cueing samples. We upgraded into version 1.1 with new support for both the Hit and Hold ideas, but it was still relatively inefficient and had a minimum requirement of DirectX 9. Version 2.0 was a complete rewrite in a new programming language and the less-than-a-month-later version 2.1 is feature packed and more professional! Compared to 1.0, the 2.0 series is more efficient in CPU usage by up to 90% and has customisable performance settings, and we still want to go further with extra development underway for future releases of this inspiring sampler software.

How many people are involved in the development?
Despite it being mainly dj chainz' idea and programming, a lot of the web material and tutorials are written by Luc. It is programmed in Purebasic and C++, which is an extremely efficient and minimal language, giving the best performance for the end user :)

I see the new skinning features but how do I skin djchainz_soundbox?!
We will soon release a tool for complete edition customers allowing you to create your own skin files, bear with us.

Is this better than a hardware sampler solution?
Undoubtedly it is; we have programmed so many advanced features and made it support so many file formats that djchainz_soundbox on an average power laptop can cue much more than any hardware unit. Djchainz_soundbox has a low latency and compared to other samplers and can hold a lot more samples than any wincy akai unit :P

Why the underscore in the name?
The underscore came about by web use and has stuck ever since. Sorry if you don't like it :P
